MAY iS BETTER SPEECH & HEARING MONTH
A speech-language pathologist (SLP) work to prevent, assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, social communication, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders in children and adults.
ROLE OF THE SLIP
Students may receive speech and language services in the classroom,small group or individually. The SLP works on straegies and skills to help the student access the curriculum and succeed academically.
This month we recognized Mental Health Awareness. Each year millions of Americans face the reality of living with mental illness. We will use this time to bring our voices together to advocate to fight stigma, provide support, educate our school community, advocate for policies and access to care that support people with mental illness and their families. So that they can get the appropriate support and quality of care to live healthy, fulfilling lives.
In addition, we will recognize and celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander Hertitage Month To recognize the contributions and influence of Asian Americans and Pacific Islander Americans to the history , culture, and achievements of the United States. Countries included in Asian Pacific American Heritage month are New Zealand, the Hawaiian Islands, Rotuma, the Midway Islands, Samoa, Tonga Tuvalu, the Cook Islands, French Polynesia, and Easter Island.
